Lindsey Davis, historical novelist, was born around Birmingham, England in 1949. With taken the degree within English literature at Oxford University (Lady Margaret Hall), she became a civil servant. She left the civil service fallowing Baker's dozen years, & whenever a romanticist novel she got written was runner higher for the 1985 Georgette Heyer Historical Novel Prize, she decided to become the writer, writing initially romantic serials for the UK women's magazine ''Woman's Realm.

Her interest within history and archaeology led to her writing a historical novel just about Vespasian and his lover Antonia Caenis (The Course of Honour''), for which she couldn't call for the publisher. She tried over again, & her number one novel featuring a Roman "detective", Marcus Didius Falco, The Silver Pigs, placed within the equivalent period of time & published in 1989, was the run of her runaway profits as a writer of historical whodunnits. A farther xv Falco novels stand followed, likewise when The Course of Honour, which was eventually published within 1998. She has won several literary awards. A seventeenth Falco novel, Underst& Delphi and Die, is published in the UK in 2 June 2005.
